Twin City Tours - CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU TO CONDUCT TWIN CITY TOURS BLOOMINGTON, IL – The Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau unveiled a new community tour program Tuesday afternoon during their annual tourism luncheon, held at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington. The event, titled Twin City Tours, consists of a 2-hour driving tour of our community that will spotlight over 40 Bloomington-Normal Area attractions. Twin City Tours is intended as a mini-getaway for visitors and local residents alike, to highlight what makes Bloomington-Normal unique. “We found that a lot of people that actually live here aren’t familiar with all that the area has to offer,” said Crystal Howard, Director of the Bloomington-Normal Area CVB. “We would like members of our community to speak highly of our community, and hope that Twin City Tours will strengthen community pride amongst our residents and businesses.” Tours begin this Saturday, May 19, from 10:00 am till noon and run every Saturday morning until September 1. The tours will be conducted on a “mini-bus” shuttle departing from the McLean County Museum of History in downtown Bloomington and admission is only $1 per person. Parking for the tour is available in the Lincoln Parking Deck on the corner of East and Front Streets. Reservations are required. Participants on the tour will learn about Mitsubishi Motors North America and their commitment to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois State University’s rich contribution to Central Illinois, the deep history of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and its downtown partner the U.S. Cellular Coliseum, along with many more landmarks that make Bloomington-Normal a top travel destination in the State of Illinois.
