McLean County Fair - The McLean County Fair, one of the oldest and largest 4-H fairs in the nation, will take place at the Interstate Center fairgrounds on August 1-5, 2007.

Friday Night Kids Night Out:Come Explore Japan - K-5th Grade - Parents drop off your child for an evening filled with fun at the Children's Discovery Museum! The evening will include several hands-on activities that may include arts and crafts, games, experimentation, and Museum exploration. A small snack will also be provided. Program cost: $10 passholder/$12 non-passholder. Payment must accompany registration. 24-hour cancellation required for credit.

ASA 14U National Softball Tournament - 132 Teams from across the country will compete in the ASA 14U Softball National Championship, July 29 - August 5 at Champion Fields in Normal. Pool play takes place July 30-31 and double elimination begins on August 1. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, August 5 at 3:00 pm.

Illinois Shakespeare Festival - Enjoy Shakespeare under the stars at the nationally renowned Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Missoula Children's Theatre, The Little Mermaid - Deep in the salty waters of the Sassafras Seas, there lived a Little Mermaid named Celia. On their 16th birthday, Celia and her three sisters who are allowed to visit the world above to learn the secrets of life on dry land. Their discoveries include ferocious dragons, advancing armies, and, of course, a handsome Prince Charming. A treat for the whole family as the Missoula Children’s Theatre brings over 50 local students together to show their talent in this new version of the age-old tale.
