Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend - The 3rd Annual Girl Scout Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend rund raising event will be held on Aug. 24, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm. This gala event will take place at Jack Lewis, Inc. Fine Jewerly, 1704 Eastland Drive, Suite 1, Bloomington. Girl Scouts will also honor a Girl Scout supporter and offer an exquisite diamond necklace in a raffle that evening. Tickets for the raffle will be available at the Girl Scout office, 3 Westport Court, Bloomington or at Jack Lewis Fine Jewlery. For more information call the Girl Scout Service Center at 662-5384.

Homeschool Program:Ben Franklin - 5-9 Yrs - This two hour, drop-off program is designed to stimulate a child's interest in a specific topic with age-appropriate, hands-on activities at the Children's Discovery Museum. Learn about the great inventor, statesman, and scientist through a series of hands-on experiments. We'll explore the kite and key experiment, discover the sounds of the glass armonica, investigate bifocals and much more! Cost includes program, snack, and Museum exploration for one child. Program cost: $10 passholder/$13 non-passholder. Payment must accompany registration. 24-hour cancellation required for credit.

Lincoln exhibit in Stevenson-Ives Library - August 23 through October 5, 2007 Lincoln exhibit in Stevenson-Ives Library. Illinois State University’s Milner Library is hosting the traveling exhibit “Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln’s Journey to Emancipation.” In conjunction will this exhibit the Museum will display Lincoln-related items in the display case outside the Library.

Open 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday & noon to 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday.
