Illinois State University’s Milner Library is hosting the traveling exhibit “Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln’s Journey to Emancipation.” In conjunction will this exhibit the Museum will display Lincoln-related items in the display case outside the Library. A Day at the Airport - Get up close and personal with the aircraft displayed at the Prairie Aviation Museum in Bloomington. Come for the pancake and sausage breakfast beginning at 7 am; the aircraft show takes place from 8:00 pm till 5:00 pm. The Experimental Aircraft Association will be giving airplane rides to youths ages 8-17. Admission is $5 and children under 5 get in free. B/N Jaycees Septemberfest - The eighth annual Bloomington-Normal Jaycee SeptemberFest is a large international beer tasting and local band music extravaganza held at the Bloomington Sale Barn. This year the event takes place on the 21st and 22nd of September. There will be over two hundred different beers represented from around the world and around the country. Bands from around the state will be playing each night during most of the evening. This year there will also be a bags tournament on Saturday the 22nd at 5pm, as part of the SeptemberFest event. Tickets at the door are $10 for a one day entry or $15 for a two day pass. Samples taste tickets are $.50. A portion of the proceeds this year goes to the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Central Illinois. Come out to enjoy the music, food and beverage – all the while supporting your local community! | ||||||
