ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY's BAND DAY! - 42nd Annual State of Illinois Invitational Marching Band Championship. Come for all or part of the day to watch Illinois High School Marching Bands compete for the Championship title. Exhibitionary performance will be given by The Big Red Marching Machine before the evening's final awards. Tickets are available at the door. Prices TBA. Bob Dylan & Elvis Costello - The Bob Dylan Show has just announced a fall concert tour that will include a stop on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington. Family Fun Nights: Boo Bash … - A not so scary Halloween event at the Children’s Discovery Museum It’s an evening of Halloween fun at the Children’s Discovery Museum. Come in costume for trick or treating in the exhibits, go on a pumpkin hunt and listen to some not so spooky story telling. Visitors will get a special peek inside Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab and create their own spooky science concoctions. Don’t miss our first ever Hallow-scream-along karaoke party. Participants will be treated to a spooktacular supper buffet with I screams for everyone! Other magical surprises a wait for those of you brave enough to attend. Cost: $10 passholder/$12 non-passholder Alien Invasion "Haunted" Space Mission - The Challenger Learning Center is not just for kids. Go on a sci-fi simulated space mission to save the planet Earth! Autumn Celebration - Enjoy a beautiful autumn day in Funks Grove. Including live music on stage throughout the day in addition to a variety of seasonal fun including a pumpkin patch, scarecrow factory, fall color walks, hawk programs, bird feeding seminars and more. Visit with historical reenactors, see an old time medicine show, and tour a Native American Encampment. Blacksmithing and woodturning demonstrations will take place throughout the day.
