Hummingbird Festival & Pollination Celebration
Date: July 29, 2007
Time: 10:00am
Location: Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove

Join us as we celebrate hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees! Attend seminars led by enthusiastic experts on hummingbirds at 11am & 1pm and butterflies and moths at noon and 2pm. Go bee-tracking (an old time hobby) with our resident bee keeper. Watch a pollination puppet show at 10:30am, 3:30pm, and 5:00pm. Make a hummingbird feeder or native bee nesting structure to take home. Tour our gardens and learn butterfly identification! The Illinois Audubon Society will be banding hummingbirds from 3-6pm. Learn all about this valuable research tool and see ruby-throated hummingbirds up-close! Visitors will have the opportunity to adopt a hummingbird and release one of the banded birds. Plus, we'll have vendors with everything hummingbird including feeders, flags, finger puppets, pottery, perennials and herbs, and lots of garden decor!
