Route 66 is considered a vibrant part of the Bloomington-Normal area today. From popular eateries like Lucca Grill to beautiful settings like Funks Grove, there is plenty to do and see along Route 66. Historic Route 66 Memory Lane in Lexington features restored billboards, classic business banners, and original pavement along with other Route 66 memorabilia. A Geographical Journey Parkway in Towanda uses educational kiosks to interpret each state along the road. With the addition of two wayside exhibits, the history of McLean County further comes alive and travelers can learn personal stories of the impact Route 66 has had on the community. The wayside exhibits can be found outside of the McLean County Museum of History in Bloomington and Sprague's Super Service in Normal, and visitors are welcome anytime during daylight hours.
