Attempts on Her Life By Martin Crimp Illinois Wesleyan University, E. Melba Johnson Kirkpatrick Laboratory Theatre 8 pm October 28-30 ***PRESS RELEASE**** The Illinois Wesleyan School of Theatre Arts is proud to present Attempts on Her Life by British playwright Martin Crimp on October 28, 29 and 30 at 8 pm in the E. Melba Johnson Kirkpatrick Laboratory Theatre. Crimps play effectively introduces the audience to Anne: a woman who the audience will never meet yet who will serve as the motivation for the entire play. Through 17 seemingly disjointed scenes, the cast of Attempts on Her Life will struggle to define the illusive Anne. Is she a terrorist, or a victim of terrorism? Is she a racist, an artist or a betrayed wife? Is she alive or dead? Does she exist? Student director Ally Moravecs interpretation is sure to raise all of these questions and more. This production will engage the mind and undoubtedly encourage everyone in the house to leave the theatre with their own definition of Anne. Tickets will be available for purchase Monday, October 25. General admission and senior ticket prices are $3. Student tickets are $2 with proof of a valid school ID. Each performance Thursday-Saturday will begin promptly at 8 pm.
