Imagine Led Zeppelin playing "The Lonely Goatherd," the Von Trapp kids and the Jackson 5 joining together ("Do Re Mi"/"ABC"), or the Ventures performing "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." The Hills Are Alive is Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata's inspired adaptation of the classic musical The Sound of Music. A project blessed by the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, BRO mashes up the songs of the classic 1965 musical with classic rock hits. Strains of rock, R&B;, hip-hop, bebop, gospel, and country intertwine in a musical highwire act that deftly maintains the balance between respectful tradition and dramatic innovation.
