George Winston describes his compositions as "rural folk piano," although his nature-inspired work has made him one of the most popular instrumental pianists today. Inspired by R&B;, jazz, blues, and rock, Winston's catalog of recordings reflects his broad interests. Perhaps best known for his seasonally themed trilogy of impressionist piano works, Winston won a Grammy for 1994's Forest. Other works of note include The Velveteen Rabbit, Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions, and two recordings of Vince Guaraldi's music from the popular Peanuts television specials.
