Beginning Blacksmith Classes by the Illinois Valley Blacksmith Association - 16 + Saturday, October 15; 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Try your hand at blacksmithing at the forge located across the parking lot from Sugar Grove Nature Center! The Illinois Valley Blacksmith Associations mission is to help people realize their dreams and aspirations of constructive and creative metalworking through participation in their many blacksmithing demonstrations, education, and training programs. Please wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants made of cotton or wool (no nylon) and closed-toe shoes. Safety glasses must be worn and will be provided if needed. Fee: $35/members of Sugar Grove Nature Center or the Illinois Valley Blacksmith Association, $45/non-members; registration & prepayment required by September 1, form available at www.sugargrovenaturecenter.org/registernow.pdf.
