Everyone wants to go home. Written by Horton Foote, "The Trip to Bountiful" is the story of Mrs. Carrie Watts, an elderly woman who wants nothing more than to return home...to Bountiful, the small, Texas town where she grew up.
Her overprotective son and boss daughter-in-law want her to remain in Houston, but Mrs. Watts is determined, and once her mind is made up, there's no stopping her. While on the road, she befriends a young traveler, Thelma, whom she entertains with stories of her past.
