Youth Conservation Day at Sugar Grove Nature Center
The McLean County Pheasants Forever Chapter with support from the McLean County Sportsmens Association is offering a youth conservation day for children 5-16 years old. This special event will take place at Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funks Grove on Saturday, August 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants, with their adult chaperone, will travel through a diversity of learning stations which will include a mock hunt, hunting dog demonstrations, archery, understanding habitat and conservation, a pellet range, stationary and trap shotgun shooting, general outdoor safety, and much more!
Pheasants Forevers youth initiative is No Child Left Indoors® and they seek to promote that at the local level through this event. One of the goals of both organizations is to get more kids outdoors, involved with habitat conservation and associated sports. Dont miss this educational and fun day! Registration is limited, so sign up today by visiting our website, www.sugargrovenaturecenter.org or contacting Pheasants Forever coordinator, Mark Talaski by email at talaskim@advance-trading.com or phone 309-826-2343. A fee of $10 per child (chaperones are required and are free) will cover the cost of lunch as well as a one year Pheasants Forever Ringneck Membership. The registration deadline is August 1. Sugar Grove Nature Center is located in beautiful, historic Funks Grove, just south of Bloomington-Normal.
