Educators at the Children's Discovery Museum are now official Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselors. Join us for a day of scouting fun. While working toward the Weather Badge, Scouts will learn about the Earth's climate, how pollution affects the atmosphere and the difference between high and low pressure systems. Participants will design working weather instruments, create cloud charts and discuss weather prediction. To learn about engineering, scouts will explore "reverse engineering" as they take apart old electronics. Discover how energy is converted from one form to another and create a working electrical circuit. Plus, learn about other science careers. Please bring and old toy or electronic appliance that can be taken apart (alarm clocks, DVD players, NO glass or LCD screens). Fee includes merit badge programming, museum playtime and lunch.
Cost: $40 per scout
