GOLD WING ROAD RIDERS COME TO BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL

BLOOMINGTON (January 31) - Bloomington-Normal will host the International Gold Wing Road Riders Association for their annual winter rally this weekend. Members from 36 Illinois chapters will congregate to McLean County from Thursday through Saturday (February 3 - February 5, 2005).

The "Winter Warm Up" offers 300 attendees the chance to meet with fellow Gold Wing rider enthusiasts at The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center during this three-day annual meeting.

Those that own a Gold Wing and are interested in this organization can obtain an individual membership for $45 or a family membership for $55 at this event. Other information regarding membership is available at the Gold Wing Road Riders website, www.gwrra.org.

During the event, several activities will be held in honor of the Gold Wing. A "You Should Have Been a Cowboy," theme party, on Saturday, February 4th, will highlight the festivities.

Illinois weather prohibits attendees from arriving on their motorcycles this weekend, but another Road Rally has been planned for Bloomington-Normal, July 29-31st, 2005.

The Gold Wing motorcycle recently celebrated its 30th birthday, and the long-distance riding motorcycle has been a success since its introduction by Honda in 1975.

The economic impact of the Gold Wing Road Riders Winter Rally is expected to reach more than $32,500.
