The Illinois State University Farm is a teaching, research and demonstration farm. The farm has 360 acres in Lexington and also farms 250 acres in Normal. Beef, sheep and swine herds are located on the farm as well. This working farm utilizes its resources for teaching and research along with production. There is also a seasonal “Weed Identification Plot” and a “Crops of the World Plot.” The farm works with a number of seed and chemical companies on field crop research. Tours can be booked by visiting the website or by contacting the farm manager. Group tours by appointment only Monday-Friday.
